Lorna is an Explorer. She lives in Leamington Ontario and is not near another ANiC Church, but she connects with a number online. She has discovered the exciting English Second Language Bible Study led by ESL Co-ordinator Steven Xu and Deacon Marion out of Christ the King Toronto. Here is what she says about her discovery.
" I have been a Christian for a long time, sat in countless how to evangelize classes, worked in para-church ministry for over 20 years, gone off on Mission team trips all over the place, and I have never seen anything as effective in reaching unchurched multi-cultural groups as Steve and Marion are doing right now in the middle of COVID and have been doing for many years. I think it may work because it is so early church in its model. Small groups of people in community, from all over the globe, sharing in fellowship and hearing the simple words of the gospel and having someone there to explain it to them that seems honestly concerned about them as people and listens, remembers, and prays. I think if we thought about Zoom as not just a modern technology we would dump as soon as"this thing is over" but as a chance to go back to a time when the church worked outside the walls of a building and reached the people of all nations where they were, we might see it, as an unprecedented opportunity."
" Marion and Steven are doing an incredible job that could be replicated in this time and place all over the country. They have refined a working model over the ten years that works now in ZOOM. There are brand new Christians on this site that are excited about their faith".
