Jesus replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?"  Then he got up and rebuked the wind and the waves and it was completely calm.  The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this?  Even the wind and the waves obey him!"  Matt. 8:24-27

The storm raged. Fear gripped their panic ridden hearts. We all know that sometimes life can throw a fearful unpredictable storm in our path. At that point in time we have a choice. We can choose to bow to fear or we can as followers of Jesus choose to embrace faith in the presence and power of our Lord.. Both fear and faith are a choice that we have. Choosing faith in our Lord defeats crippling fear. The response of Jesus to fearful disciples almost seems harsh. “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” After all He was present with them in their predicament. “Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.” The lesson learned? Faith in our ever present Lord conquers fear. HE calms the raging storm. How we choose matters.  “What kind of man is this?  Even the winds and the waves obey Him!” Amazing!
